Greetings fellow fish,
Just wanted to throw out a quick reminder about this Sunday's group brew. Jenn Kopp is gracious enough to invite the club back to her unique property for a second round of group brewing. Apparently we didn't do enough damage the first time, with dogs jumping through swimming pool greenhouses and such. This will be an outdoor brew, so please dress accordingly. Jenn has a pretty awesome outdoor fire set up though, and I'm pretty sure we'll be warm enough. The recipe is based on a brew that Evan Clark has been working on with for quite some time, a black steam beer. We're going to hit half of it with a CA lager yeast, while the other half will receive a Mexican lager yeast (resurrected from COHO de Mayo).
Jenn's house is at 1545 NW Juniper, at the intersection of Juniper and Portland, on the SW corner. Look for the big three story pad with a cell phone tower on the roof, you can't miss it. Parking is to be found on the the east side of the property, along Juniper. Please enter the property from the east side, as it will give you immediate access to the group brew, as well as the fire pit. If you need help getting there or getting in please call me at 948-4504.
Also, please give out a big thanks to Erin Marlowe. She has stepped forth from the ranks to fill the vacant COHO secretary position. Erin has volunteered to fill the position until the club elections, possibly longer, and we are very happy to have her aboard. Her commitment comes at a critical time for the club, with some major projects looming on the horizon. Erin's input will lend to a balanced executive decision process with the absence of Mike and Michelle.
Hope to see everyone on Sunday.

Happy holidays fellow fish,
Here's a reminder about our upcoming Xmas party and meeting next Wednesday the 19th. We'll be at the Jason and Theresa Quade's house (again). We had a great time last year, and look forward to another excellent party. Jason had some pretty good ideas as how to liven things up -
"Also I was thinking of playing a rob your neighbor gift exchange. Something that even the people that didn't bring a gift could participate in. This has become a tradition in parts of my family and it proves to be rather fun. It basically involves a bunch of cheap gifts ie. a bottle of NA beer and a few sets of dice people chose gifts until they run out and then start steeling from each other until a timer runs out and then you open what you have. Thought this might give a little more holiday spirit to the meeting. " Come prepared, I see a big bottle of malt liquor in someone's future.
We'll have a very brief meeting to cover some club business, including a quick raffle. COHO does have a huge announcement to make this month, so come out and hear us!
We'll be sampling from an awesome keg of Appleton rum French oak aged stout. This beer is one of the best COHO beers to date, very tasty. Food will be a potluck style, so bring your best grub with you. There's a link to a map on the bottom of the page, hope to see you all next Wednesday.
