The Brew will take place at our house, starting around 10:30 AM. Marquita has volunteered to set up a delicious taco bar, and I will most likely have at least six beers on tap, including Marquita's triple dry hopped English IPA, oak aged barleywine, dry hopped imperial red, and an oatmeal pale ale. bq. Evan, Jenn and I will be brewing with an eye towards the AHA conference - brewing a chocolate hazelnut espresso stout and a juniper amber ale. bq. Join Uber as they celebrate their 3rd Anniversary. The celebration begins on Thursday with a special tapping of JW Lee’s Lagavulin Aged Vintage Harvest Ale; on Friday they will tap another JW Lee’s aged in and served from an 80 year old Willoughby’s Reserve Port wooden cask (the first in Washington). On Sunday they will be featuring 3 different 3 year old barleywines. It’s well advised to arrive early to ensure tasting all the beers and to get a seat. "Spring Fling results are here":http://wiki.cohomebrewers.org/2010_Spring_Fling Here are the rules: * Entries will consist of two 12-16oz. bottles. All bottle caps must be blank or otherwise blacked out. Raised-letter bottles from breweries such as Deschutes, Widmer, and New Belgium will be allowed. Swing top "Grolsch style" bottles will not be accepted. * Entry fees are $6 per entry, with a limit of two entries per BJCP subcategory. Please make checks payable to Central Oregon Homebrewers Organization. * There are four entry drop-off locations: in Bend at The Brew Shop, in Eugene at Valley Vintner, in Corvallis at Corvallis Brewing Supply, and in Portland at FH Steinbarts. * The deadline for entries is Saturday, April 17 in Bend -- Saturday, April 10th for all other locations. * Hand carried entries from out-of-town judges will be accepted up to the start of the event. * Entries will be judged according to 2008 BJCP style guidelines. * One Best of Show entrant will be brewed commercially at 10 Barrel Brewing Company and served at their brewpub. * Awards will be given for Best of SHow, Best of Show Runner Up, Best of Show Second Runner Up, highest Scoring Entry, Highest Scoring First Time Entry, as well as First Place for individual categories. If you are a first time homebrew competition entrant, please denote so on your entry paperwork. The event will be held at the Nativity Lutheran Church, 60850 Brosterhous Road (on the corner of Brosterhous Road and SE Knott Road). Judgeregistration will begin at 9:30 AM, and will be followed by first round judging at 10:30 AM. Awards and prizes will be issued directly after the Best of Show judging in the afternoon.
