Can I roast a turkey in my brew pot?
I have a nice 9 gallon stainless steel turkey roasting pot which I purchased a year or so ago and have been using as my brew kettle. Although I have never used it for anything other than brewing, it is part of a turkey roasting kit.
I have never roasted a turkey in oil, but I have heard they are very good if done properly. Alton Brown on Food Network has a very humorus episode on how to do it with out burning your house down and kiilling youself in the prosess. I was thinking about trying his recipe for Thanksgiving.
My question is, can I use my brew kettle to roast a turkey without destroying its usefulness as a brew kettle? I use 5 Star PBW cleaner which does a remarkable job of keeping the kettle clean. What do you think? Is this a bad idea?
